‘Rock Band Network’ will change music game

It’s not that the games being released aren’t high quality — “Guitar Hero: Metallica” is one of the best games released so far this year. When consumers know that a new game will come out every few months apathy sets in making it easier to skip a release. But just as it seemed that the music gaming genre has lost some steam developer Harmonix made an announcement recently that could again change the scope of music gaming. The creators of “Rock Band” announced the creation of the Rock Band Network which should work similar to a gaming version of iTunes.

He’s as at home on a stage or in a recording studio as he is in the spotlight of Monday Night Football on which he had a career-high three sacks in 2006. Yes Terrill can do way more than plug the center-guard gap or chase down quarterbacks. He also plugs his guitar into an amplifier and drops down to his knees like Bruce Springsteen while in his other life: as the creator and lead singer of The Craig Terrill Band. “You know it’s easier on the knees than football” the 29-year-old with the heart and voice for Heartland rock says laughing. This is not just another jock with some — K lots of — money buying his way into gigs and attention. “I’ve heard some professional athletes sing doing rap and such things and I took that for what it was worth. But Craig he’s prolific.
