Beginning his career in 1943 at the age of 17 Bucky Pizzarelli had gone on to become a staff musician at NBC where he played in the Doc Severinson Band on the “Tonight Show. ” He toured with Benny Goodman through the 1980s. A rhythm player and dedicated preservationist of the old guitar music and early styles Pizzarelli plays a seven-string electric guitar. While this guitar is used more commonly today for many years he was the only musician along with George Van Eps to play this instrument exclusively.
