”Within the month the two newcomers had gigs. Austin would give way to Houston between 1978 and 1981 for the simple reason that “there were more gigs and more money here” Morlix says. He points out that the Montrose scene at the time was lively “between 50 and 100 people out in the bars listening to music every night. ”His first recording credit was playing guitar on Eric Taylor’s 1981 album Shameless Love. Morlix then split for Los Angeles where he fell in with a roots-rock scene that included the Blasters X Dwight Yoakam and Lucinda Williams. Morlix and Williams had lived in Houston and Austin at the same time but never crossed paths. He worked with her from 1985 to 1996 producing and playing on Lucinda Williams and Sweet ld World before the legendary labored process behind Car Wheels on a Gravel Road ended their professional relationship.

Three generations watched voted and have been (and still are) big Adam Lambert fans. My 88 year old mother picked him right from the first and every week looked forward to watching him and voting! Multiple times!!! He brings joy to listen and watch him perform. We have checked out youtube and heard him sing Brigadoon Wicked My Prayer…. all types of music he soars and I cannot wait to buy her Adam’s first CD for her 89th birthday.
