Probably the best crowd we?ve ever encountered and I?m certain they?ll be as up for it in Sandinos. ?I?m going to bring a bit of everything and see how it goes but the plan is to play loads of guitar music you can jump around and get drunk to! I can?t wait for this one I?m going to make a real night of it bring a few mates up to Derry!?The resident DJ is BBC TV and radio presenter Rigsy who?s responsible for Sketchy one of the biggest student nights in Northern Ireland. He explained: ?With Sketchy the important thing was listening to the regulars. ?That?s why there?s always such a great atmosphere. Having DJ?d in Derry dozens of times in the past I know just how crazy and up for it the people are.

I had a crummy amp on a chair in mymum’s basement and then I saw the Clash in Chicago and JoeStrummer had exactly the same amp on a chair on stage. The wallscompletely disappeared. I realised that there was no magic to it. You just had to get a few chords together and say what you think istrue and then you are in a band that matters.

He learned to play the guitar formed a band called Time Pieces and earned a semi-regular gig at ne More Korner Bar an establishment in Union owned by a family friend. His first appearance when he was 14 was a favor. But the crowd responded to his mix of classic rock blues and rockabilly and he has returned seven or eight times since. Pitching music and life hung in the balance June 19 when Greg came in to pitch for Anheuser-Busch American Legion Post 299 in the third inning of a game at House Springs. Greg said he thought the pitch was good "but I didn’t hit my spot… His first appearance when he was 14 was a favor. But the crowd responded to his mix of classic rock blues and rockabilly and he has returned seven or eight times since. Pitching music and life hung in the balance June 19 when Greg came in to pitch for Anheuser-Busch American Legion Post 299 in the third inning of a game at House Springs. Greg said he thought the pitch was good "but I didn’t hit my spot. The catcher set up outside but I hit the middle of the plate. All I remember was my arm being up there" he said posed with his arm above his ear nearly finished with his follow-through. Less than three-tenths of a second later the ball struck Greg above the right ear.
