Eric Clapton at the Crossroads again
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette – Pittsburgh Post Gazette – Nov 20, 2007
King Sonny Landreth Jimmy Vaughan Robert Cray and more. But they are there for the watching. If you love Eric Clapton if you love great guitar music if you love the mother’s milk of the blues save a few hours to take in these marvelous performances. Even though it’s Clapton’s gig he’s almost just another guest here fitting into the lineup looking more and more like an English prof at some trendy little college. But his fingers still fly belying the slowhand years. Do I sound like I enjoyed all this? Good.

Players tuning in to sound of music
Columbus Dispatch – Nov 20, 2007
“Even my mom was rocking out. Such mass appeal has not only made the Guitar Hero series a crossover hit — previous titles have sold almost 6 millioncopies in the United States — but also prompted an upswing in the once-niche genre of musicalgames. A look at the holiday lineup reveals an abundance of music-based titles from the ubiquitous Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock to Hannah Montana: Music Jam — in which would-be rockers “play” guitar bass anddrums with the Nintendo DS stylus. And more are on the way. The idea is to “make games more inviting and accessible to non-gamers” Jason Della Roccaexecutive director of the International Game Developers Association wrote by e-mail. “While music games are not new certainly the increased number and diversity of them aredirectly related to a desire to reach a broader audience. Perhaps no music-based title has received more pre-release buzz than Rock Band the 800-pound gorilla on the living-room-turned-rock-arena scene.

Music skills earn an education

To be able to still get into the course going up against them is remarkable. "For his audition liver played Chopin’s Scherzo Number 2 on the piano. "I specialise in classical music on the piano and I like playing Spanish classical on the guitar but I enjoy lots of different styles" he says. He is also part of a school band called Super 12 that went to Tonga earlier this year. They play "a mixture of everything" he says. But liver isn’t your typical music geek. He spends lunchtimes playing basketball with his friends and says he practises music for between 30 minutes and an hour each day.

Colbie Caillat talks about MySpace success overcoming shyness and…
San Francisco Chronicle – Nov 20, 2007
Like I used to not even sing in front of people and now I’m playing these huge songs so it’s definitely helped but I’m really nervous when I’m up there. AP: How hard was it to learn the guitar?Caillat: For me it’s difficult; it’s still difficult I’m learning it but I realize that I can play very simple songs and play four to five chords in a song and write that way so for me I’m more of a singer and the guitar is to just to help accompany me. I wouldn’t call myself a guitar player but I want to learn it more I want to get better at it. AP: Your father Ken Caillat is a music producer (Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Rumors’ was one of his projects). Was he involved in this record?Caillat: My father did get involved in this record. I wanted him to and he wanted to; it’s always been my dream because he’s a producer so I always said I want you to produce my album someday. My producer is actually Mikal Blue but my dad was in the studio with us every day and giving ideas and things we would have never thought of for the album so he really helped a lot.
