Seattle Post Intelligencer – Oct 31, 2007
In one he is playing alongside a man with glasses and dark hair. It was taken in February 2006 at a party in Detroit after the Seahawks lost Super Bowl XL. Yes Terrill jammed that night with Seahawks owner Paul Allen himself an avid guitar player and music fan. “He can really play” Terrill said. “He’s a helluva guitarist. It could also be an apt description for Terrill who spent much of this past offseason recording his first album tentatively titled “CT” which will be self-released sometime before year’s end. MTV.com – Oct 31, 2007
It hasn’t fallen out of the top 200 once since its initial release. So let’s face it — no one in the music business awoke this morning and was shocked to learn that Underwood’s sophomore LP Carnival Ride opens at #1 on next week’s albums sales chart with an impressive 527000 in week-one scans. Carnival Ride becomes the artist’s first chart-topping bow and she walked away with the win. Raising Sand a collaborative offering from Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant and bluegrass pioneer Alison Krauss came closest to Underwood opening at #2 with 112300 sold according to the latest SoundScan totals. That’s a margin of nearly 415000 albums separating #1 from #2. Carnival Ride is now one of the best-selling debuts of 2007 following Linkin Park’s Minutes to Midnight (with 623000 scans) 50 Cent’s Curtis (691000) and Kanye West’s Graduation (957000)… Meanwhile Cobra Starship’s Viva La Cobra! enters at #80 with 10600 scans and at #89 with 9500 copies sold is Little Brother’s Getback. Rapper Trae’s Life Goes n sold more than 7500 copies its first week in stores landing the album at #104 while the Temptations’ Back to Front opens at #108 with 7300 scans. The soundtrack to the forthcoming video game “Guitar Hero 3″ enters the top 200 at #147 with sales of 5000-plus just in front of Swedish metallers Soilwork and their latest Sworn to a Great Divide which sold just under 5000 copies to take the #148 position. Relient K’s second Christmas album Let It Snow Baby. Let It Reindeer enters at #149 with 4900 scans and comedian Nick Swardson’s Party finishes at #156 with 4800 copies sold.

Music Review: Ryan Adams and the Cardinals play Dead
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette – Pittsburgh Post Gazette – Oct 31, 2007
htm –>Music Review: Ryan Adams and the Cardinals play DeadWednesday ctober 31 2007By Scott Mervis Pittsburgh Post-GazetteIt used to be that the joke at a Ryan Adams concert was to holler for “Summer of ‘69. ” But the funniest thing anyone yelled Monday night at Carnegie Music Hall in akland was “Friend of the Devil!”Ryan Adams and the Cardinals might as well have played that Jerry Garcia gem because they spent most of the night channeling the Dead. The knock on Adams young and brilliant as he is has always been a slavish devotion to his influences whether it’s the Replacements Dylan Neil Young or T-Rex. For the time being his compass has stopped on the Dead big time. When Spin asked him recently to name his favorite punk band he said the Dead and he had a cool cosmic Dead shirt on Monday night. Not that you could see it all that well… I don’t drink beer. ” Later Adams himself descended into the crowd to call out “Cuts Like a Knife!”)Adams drew from the full range of his solo career slowing a lot of the songs down to Dead speed even ones like “Let It Ride” “Shakedown on 9th Street” and “Halloweenhead” performed as a piano ballad. The vocal harmonies and guitar work between Adams and Neal Casal were rarely less than gorgeous. Adams’ supple voice is one of the best instruments and best kept secrets in the music business and it was breathtaking on “The Sun Also Sets” and “Come Pick Me Up” among others. He can play guitar as well often joining Casal on sick synchronized leads like the one on “Cold Roses. But just like most of his records have been slightly flawed so was the concert. There were long stretches that were pretty but painfully slow.

Le Concert des Nations – Music – Review – New York Times
New York Times – Oct 31, 2007
In a program called “Les Go?R?is” (”The Reunion of Styles”) at Zankel Hall on Monday Mr. Savall and Le Concert des Nations one of his fine period-instrument ensembles performed works representing both the 17th-century French style and the more Italianate sound of the early 18th century. Jean-Baptiste Lully was a favorite of the music-loving Louis XIV. The program began with excerpts from “Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme” (Lully’s collaboration with… There were also fine contributions throughout the evening from Enrique Solinis on theorbo (a long-necked lute) and guitar. Luca Guglielmi managed the tricky feat of making the harpsichord sing in solo works by Couperin. Savall a bearded courtly man who seems as dignified as his instrument made his gamba sing beautifully as well with a soulful sound and seamless phrasing especially in selections by Marin Marais. Jordi Savall plays a solo recital tonight in Weill Recital Hall; (212) 247-7800 carnegiehall.
