Playing Licks And Riffs
Buzzle – Aug 18, 2007
Each voicing has it’s own special feel. For instance the major 7th chords have a soft misty feel to them while a series of 7th chords has a “blues feel to them. If you want to play modern guitar music especially jazz and blues you will need to be familiar with these variations. lder songs don’t use them as much and if all you like to play is classic bluegrass or country you can get away with nothing more than a couple of minor chords. Pay Attention To Your Picking HandIt would be natural to think that you only had to concentrate on the hand thats shaping chords. When we found out that my dad was being unfaithful I imaginedwhat it would be like for me to be in my mum’s situation. My new single Stranger and the song Gypsy Woman are about myparents’ divorce not about my break-up. Guitar music is my favourite. For years now I’ve listened toTragic Kingdom by No Doubt Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissetteand anything by Morrissey especially Suedehead. I’m obsessed with The Cure and I’ve downloaded all their songson iTunes. Joel [Madden] was my first love but I feel happier now we’vesplit. I didn’t leave Joel to be with someone else.
